Gambling blocker for iPhone

A calm companion
between you and the bet.

RiskHound helps people stop gambling. It blocks the betting apps and websites you or a parent choose on an iPhone, using Apple's Screen Time technology, and can optionally alert a parent or accountability partner when a blocked attempt happens.

  • Built on Apple Screen Time
  • Blocking happens on your device
  • For yourself or your child

How it works

Two ways to set it up

Use RiskHound to put distance between yourself and betting, or set it up on your child's iPhone as a parent.

Self-exclusion

For yourself

Make gambling harder to reach, on your terms.

  1. Tap Set Up for Myself and approve with Face ID.
  2. Switch on the Safari blocker.
  3. Choose the betting apps on your phone in Apple's picker.
  4. Optionally add a commitment period or an accountability-partner PIN.
Family Sharing

For your child's phone

Protect a young person's iPhone with a parent PIN.

  1. On your child's phone, tap Set Up for My Child's Device.
  2. Approve with your own Apple Account.
  3. Create a parent PIN, switch on the Safari blocker, and choose the betting apps.
  4. Set Deleting Apps to Don't Allow in Screen Time.

What it does

Steady protection, without the noise

Blocks betting apps

Choose the betting apps on your phone in Apple's picker, and iOS blocks them dependably. RiskHound also applies a list of known betting apps.

Blocks betting websites

A Safari blocker stops betting sites in Safari and WebKit, and iOS locks its settings while protection is running.

Commitment periods

Pick a date, and protection can't be turned off until it passes. A harder-to-quit option for the moments that matter.

Accountability partner

Someone you trust sets a PIN. Turning protection off then needs them.

Guardian alerts

Optionally let a parent or partner know when an attempt is blocked: a name, whether it was an app or a website, and the time. Never which one.

Hard to work around

While a commitment or PIN is in force, RiskHound locks the phone's automatic Date & Time, Apple Account and passcode settings.

Privacy

Your browsing stays yours

RiskHound doesn't see your browsing or your messages. Blocking happens on your device.

  • The only thing that can leave your phone is the optional guardian alert.
  • Alerts never say which app or site, and share no browsing history or messages.
  • Unlink a guardian at any time, and the server forgets the link.
